Maluhia O Mele HistoryThis short film-poem follows the path of finding peace, hope and wellness, despite the many challenges we all face.
The film forms a fusion of several ceremonial, genre and narrative strands. The really real and narrative fiction blend. The Venerable Master Panekhao asked the filmmaker to deliver a short film based on attending the Interfaith Prayer for World Peace in Honolulu, and the opening the following day of a Laotian Buddhist temple in a Ko`olau valley on the Windward side of the island, where the filmmaker's family is from. The filmmakers had six weeks to complete a draft of the film for a screening at the 2016 International Maritime Festival in Brest, France. Thus the theme of finding peace and making connections across oceans.
