LAST YEAR AT THE OLD ROYAL HAWAIIAN is an independent coming-of-age feature film that stars KAMAHELE BRITOS, MEGAN UNRUH, HALIʻA BEAMER, ANGELEYH PASCO, JUSTINE ALBERT, WILLIAM VASHON STEPHENS, & TIARE THOMAS HARRIS. The film explores local and Hawaiian culture, intergenerational conflict, betrayal, love, domestic violence, forgiveness, redemption, homelessness. The title comes from Alain Resnais’ "Last Year at Marienbad". The film pays homage to Hawaiian families and musicians, 3rd world cinema, Italian, French, Hollywood and Japanese culture and film.
